If you’re a frequent reader of the blog, you’ll know by now that I fly on Etihad very often, not because I have to but rather I love flying them. I’ve now reviewed their Melbourne loungeAbu Dhabi First loungeLondon lounge and even the Residence Lounge in Abu Dhabi. Here is the latest review of the Etihad Washington Dulles lounge.

Etihad’s lounge is located in the A terminal next to gate A14 at Washington Dulles airport. The lounge is used by both Etihad and Royal Air Maroc.

To access the lounge, you’ll need to be flying either In First or Business Class or be Gold or Above with Etihad Guest or their partner airlines.

As you walk into the lounge, the first thing you’ll find on the right is the Business Centre which consists of 3 IMac’s and a printer.

Directly behind that, you’ll find a stand with an assortment of reading materials.

a shelf with several newspapers on it

Just next to the reading materials you’ll find the kids area.

The lounge features Etihad’s older decor, but it’s still a very comfortable and spacious area.

There’s a heap of seating, but the only thing lacking from the lounge is a number of power points. I could only find two ports, and they were being used as soon as people arrived.

The coolest thing about the lounge is the fact that you can board directly from the there. Very similar to what Emirates have In some of their lounges.

The lounge has big windows which means a heap of natural light. It makes the space feel airy, and I love that in a lounge.

As you can see, there is an abundance of seating available.

The lounge is split into three parts, a bottom seating area, a dining area with a bar and an upper seating area.

The lounge assistants offer passengers dates and Arabic coffee as you enter the lounge.

For my late lunch, I had the pepper crusted steak.

And for the dessert, I had a small vanilla cake.

The buffet has a good selection of fresh fruits, cookies, and all types of other food.

I found the honeycomb to be an interesting selection.

Past the dining area is the bar. The bar can serve anything from a soft drink to a cocktail of your choice.

Next to the bar is the bathrooms, Etihad does a fantastic job to always keep them clean and tidy. Hat’s off to the cleaners.

As is the norm in all Etihad lounges there is a prayer room.

As I mentioned earlier, the lounge does have an upper section. This is either used for VIP guests or when the lounge is reaching maximum capacity.

The upper level is almost exactly the same as the lower, just a little more confined and private.

If the area is being used, there is a buffet available, however, when I was visiting it wasn’t being used.

Bottom Line

The Etihad Washington lounge is a great place to relax and await your flight. This is the third Etihad lounge in the United States, beside Los Angeles and New York’s JFK airport. Is it better than the other two? No, but that’s in no way saying it’s a bad lounge. It’s got everything you could need, and the staff are lovely which makes the time in there very enjoyable.
