Vietnam Airlines Commence Hanoi – Sydney Services

Yesterday the 29th of March, the home carrier of Vietnam ”Vietnam Airlines” commenced direct services from Hanoi to Sydney. The new service joins the existing Ho Chi Minh route.

The new route is operated by a Boeing 787-9 which seats 28 Business Class passengers, 35 Premium Economy passengers and 211 Economy passengers.

The schedule for the new service is as follows:

VN787 departs Hanoi on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday at 2355, arrives in Sydney at 1315 (AEDT) the next day

VN786 departs Sydney on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1515 (AEDT), arrives in Hanoi 2050

As I said earlier, the aircraft has 28 Zodiac Cirrus ||| seats in a reverse herringbone configuration. The seats have a seat pitch of 42” and feature a 15.4” IFE screen.

Vietnam Airlines 787 Business Class

 The Premium Economy product on the 787-9 features 35 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. The seats have a pitch of 42” and the seats have a recline of 7”. The seats also have a personal IFE screen which is 6.4” in size.

Vietnam 787 Premium Economy

The Economy Class product on the 787-9 features 211 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. The seats feature a pitch of 32” and they have 6 inches of recline. Each seat also features it’s own IFE monitor that measures 10.6 inches.

Vietnam 787 Economy Class

Business Class guests and Skyteam elite members will be able to access the Skyteam lounge. If you’re not an elite member or seated in Business you’re able to purchase access for $50. Keep in mind, if you’re holding an eligible American Express card you can use the Amex lounge.
