This post if just for passengers travelling on Qantas’s 717 aircraft, if you’re not travelling on them you can stop reading this now as it won’t apply to you.

If you’re travelling on a Qantas 717 in the next 4 weeks this is quite important for you. You might or might not know that Qantas have two variants of 717’s, 1 is 2 class with 12 Business Class seats and 98 Economy seats and the second variant consists of 125 Economy seats.

The Business Class configured 717’s are usually on these routes:

  • Brisbane – Canberra
  • Brisbane – Mount Isa
  • Brisbane – Townsville
  • Brisbane – Mackay
  • Canberra – Melbourne
  • Canberra – Sydney
  • Hobart – Launceston
  • Hobart – Melbourne
  • Hobart – Sydney
  • Sydney – Sunshine Coast
  • Sydney – Gold Coast
  • Melbourne – Maroochydore

Qantas currently have a shortage of Ipads and will only be loading Ipad devices onboard for passengers in Business Class, passengers in Economy Class should download the Qstreaming app for their personal devices.

This will only apply to passengers travelling on aircraft with a Business Class cabin, passengers on the all economy configured aircraft will not be affected. The shortage should be fixed within the next 4 weeks but in the meantime passengers in Economy will have to rely on their own devices.

This will also not affect passengers travelling the A330 services within Australia and beyond.

Passengers can download the Qstreaming app on both the App Store and the Google Play store for free.

You were right, it doesn’t apply to me but I read it anyway! 🙂 Fascinatingly useless (to me).

Several errant apostrophes appear where plural 717s are mentioned; http://www.apostrophe.org.uk/page2.html
