Sydney Will Get China Airlines’ A350 From December

Asia is Australia’s biggest travel market and has been for as long as I can remember. For the past few months, carriers have been heavily increasing their services to help with the massive demand which continues to show strength. China Airlines is a carrier that hasn’t been the most prominent in Australia compared to its competitors, however, they will be increasing their presence in Sydney this year with a second daily service and along with that, they’ll be bringing their flagship A350-900 aircraft. This will be the first scheduled A350 for Sydney.

Here is the schedule for both the second flight and A350 into Sydney from December 1st, 2017 courtesy of routesonline.com

The aircraft is a massive improvement over the A330-300 which is currently on the Taipei – Sydney route.

The aircraft features 32 B/E Super Diamond suites which are in a 1-2-1 configuration. I consider the Super Diamond to be the best Business Class product on the market and have flown it a number of times. The aircraft also features a swanky new Premium Economy cabin with 31 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Each seat has a pitch of 39” and a width of 20” But the cool thing about this aircraft swap is that the airline won’t be selling Premium Economy on the route so Economy passengers will be able to get the seats for free!

And lastly, the Economy cabin has 243 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. Each seat comes with 32” of pitch and 18” of width.

The aircraft also features In-seat power ports, USB points and onboard Wifi for a fee. Unfortunately, there isn’t a simple way for Australians to redeem miles to fly on the aircraft. But If you collect Delta points or Korean Air Skypass miles, this can be a fantastic redemption to make on a new product.

Brisbane was supposed to be getting the aircraft earlier this year, however, there hasn’t been any word on when they will get the aircraft.
