Airlines Virgin Australia and Virgin Atlantic currently have some amazing around the world deals originating from Australia. The itinerary starts in major Australian cities to Melbourne, you’ll then fly to Hong Kong. Onwards to London, then to Los Angeles and finally back to Brisbane.

What is the cost?

For Business Class, it will cost $3999 AUD

And for Economy Class, it will cost $1350 AUD


For the first Intentional leg, you’ll get to fly on Virgin Australia’s brand new Melbourne – Hong Kong service which is operated by their A330-200. This leg will earn you 120 status credits in Business and 60 in Economy. To see what the A330 Business product is like, click here.

From Hong Kong, you’ll be off to London onboard Virgin Atlantic’s 787 Dreamliner. This flight will earn you 160 status credits in Business Class and 80 in Economy.

And when you’re off to Los Angeles, you’ll also be flying on the 787-9. If you’re in Business you’ll be able to enjoy the very impressive Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse which is definitely worth a visit. The flight to Los Angeles will earn you 160 status credits in Business and 80 in Economy.

The fares do have a few conditions and they’re listed below:

  • You have to book before May 19th (be fast, 2 days left)
  • Travel must be taken between July 5th and September 25th
  • You can depart from almost all Australian cities to Melbourne as you have to fly on VA89 to Hong Kong

Overall, if you’re looking for an around the world trip in Business or Economy this is a pretty phenomenal deal. As an example, the routeing will earn you 600 status credits and get you Gold with Virgin Australia and in Economy, it will earn 300 status credits which is 200 status credits off Gold.

If you try and find the routeing online on similar dates it will price at around $11,000…

Ah, yes you’re correct. I had accidentally added the extra 60 from adding another departure city, in this case Brisbane.

I class on VA and Z class on VS.
Travel dates appear to be the below:
> 05 July 17 through 26 September 17
> 26 November 17 through to 05 December 17
> 24 December 17 through to 10th February 18
