Fiji Airways first announced in May that they would be taking delivery of two A350-900’s which would be arriving at the airline by the end of this year. Interestingly, the airline hasn’t purchased them but are instead leasing them from the Dubai based company, DAE Capital.
The airline currently has a fleet of 14 aircraft ranging from Twin otters all the way up to their A330-300.
The airline will take delivery of their first A350 in November while the second one will arrive during December. The only destinations that will receive the A350 will be Los Angeles, Auckland & Sydney.
Routesonline reports that the Fijian carrier has actually moved the dates forward as well as scheduling more flights for the Sydney region. Instead of the one weekly service they originally planned, they will now operate five times weekly with the brand new aircraft.
Fiji Airways A350 Business Class
Fiji’s A350’s will be split into two cabins, Business and Economy Class. The Business product may look very similar, and that’s because it’s the B/E Super Diamond seat, the same seat that Virgin Australia and Qatar use. All up, there will be a total of 33 seats in the Business Class cabin.
Fiji Airways A350 Economy Class
The Economy seats are the Recaro CL3710 model which are the same seats you’ll find on select Qantas, Singapore and British Airways aircraft.
Fiji Airways shared these photos the past few days on their Facebook page, but there’s something that I want to mention. Is it just me or do the cabins really lack colour and have nothing that gets your attention? One thing I’d change is adding a pattern or something to those seats in business, similar to their paint scheme. To me, the cabins just look boring, but I’d like to see it in person before making a final decision on what my thoughts are.
