Thai Airways planned to launch A350 services to Melbourne from the 16th of September but they got delayed to October, then November and it goes on. Well, now there is some glimmer of hope as their A350 is showing up in bookings onwards from the 26th of March 2017.
Thai has been using a mixture of 747-400, 777-200, 777-300ER aircraft.
Why haven’t they been able to fly to Melbourne?
This is the really strange part. CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) is now giving Thai the green light to commence flights due to ”unfamiliarity” with the A350. What’s weird about this is that Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways have or do fly into Australia.
This is a very strange reasoning for the airline, and hopefully, they can commence the flights in March. They currently operate to Phuket, Rome, and Milan. If you haven’t seen what the Thai A350 looks like in inside here is the post.
