Qantas has today announced something that I’m sure many travelers have wanted to see for quite some time; the airline has announced Premium Entry which will open alongside the upcoming new lounges which are set to open in March 2017.

The Premium Entry facility offers baggage drop facilities, check-in counters and security and screening. The facility will also have an escalator that leads directly into the new lounge area.

I imagine the area will be very similar to what airlines like Amercian Airlines and Virgin Australia have.

The Premium Entry facility will be open 1 hour from the first Qantas departure which is usually QF501 to Sydney which departs at 5:00. The area will be located on level 1 of the domestic terminal.

Per Qantas,

“Premium Lounge Entry will speed up the process for customers checking in both at the airport or on their mobile – allowing them to move through the terminal quickly and maximize their time relaxing or working in the lounge.

“The premium facility is part of Qantas’ multi-million dollar investment in the Brisbane Airport customer experience. We opened our brand new International Lounge this year and are excited to turn our focus to the refurbishment of our domestic lounges and departure experience,” added Mr Capps.
