Qantas Are Introducing Limited Edition 787 Amenity Kits

Qantas have finally taken delivery of their first 787-9 Dreamliner. The airline first ordered the aircraft quite a few years ago and ever since ordering them, they’ve been extremely excited to receive them. The first aircraft, VH-ZNA, is currently sitting in Honolulu on it’s way to Sydney from Seattle.

The aircraft will be arriving in Sydney on Friday morning and will be welcomed by a large media event in Qantas’ hangar 96. The carrier has been posting non-stop about the aircraft and many, many passengers and loyal Qantas fan’s are very excited to finally see it arrive in the Qantas fleet.

To celebrate the aircraft being part of the fleet, the airline is introducing new limited edition amenity kit’s which will exclusively be onboard the 787 and on the Melbourne – Los Angeles route starting on December 15th.

The new kits are in collaboration with two companies, Oroton & Craig & Karl. The new Business Class kits contain ASPAR products, socks, toothpaste and tooth brush and eye shades.

Per Qantas,

“We are sure the Oroton pouch will enjoy a post-flight life as a designer travel bag with Oroton’s trademark high quality case and the Craig & Karl design a fantastic and fashionable combination for either an evening clutch or make-up bag, or to stash personal device cables, travel documents or foreign cash and coins as many of our Frequent Flyers do,” she said.

It’s great to see Qantas create exclusive pieces for the 787 and from photo’s on Twitter, the headrests and pillows onboard are also 787 branded, I’m not sure if they’ll stay when the aircraft enters revenue services but it is cool nonetheless.

Keep an eye on the blog on Friday as I’ll be posting about the 787 from the Sydney media event.
