Unlike the United States, In Australia, we don’t get large aircraft on domestic sectors which is a little disappointing. However, there are a few occasions during the year where you’re able to fly a 747 on a domestic leg. There has been a few this year already, but in the next few days, there’s an opportunity to do so.
Here are the two flights:
Saturday (Feb 11) QF459 Sydney – Melbourne (18:00-19:35PM)
Monday (Feb 13) QF416 Melbourne- Sydney (0:8:30 – 09:55AM)
The 747 that will be used on the route will be a 3 class configured aircraft, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.
There is a heap of seats available, and your upgrades are almost guaranteed to clear. If you hold Gold or Platinum status, you can select Premium Economy seats for free.
If have flown one of these flights in the past and it’s a lot of fun. These flights are for the Antarctica sightseeing flights, but they also do these types of flights when there are sporting grand finals.
