It’s not often I’m able to say Air New Zealand has availability in Business Class on long-haul flights from the United States to New Zealand however for some strange reason, Air New Zealand has quite a few open seats available to book. This is a pretty rare occurrence so if you have the miles and are wanting to visit New Zealand, book immediately.
There’s quite a few seats from a few different cities, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Chicago and Houston. Best and easiest way to find space is through the United website.
There’s a few seats from New Zealand to the U.S but generally more if you’re departing the United States.
There seems to be seats available over the next few months, there’s no real pattern at all, just random dates with 1 seat available to book.
Here are the points required for programs best to book these flights with:
- Lifemiles – 80,000 points (you can purchase points)
- Aeroplan – 80,000 points (you can purchase points)
- United – 90,000 points (you can purchase points)
- Singapore Airlines – 130,000 points
Air New Zealand fly the 777-300ER to Los Angeles, 777-200ER to San Fransisco The 777-300ER to Houston & the 787-9 to Chicago. The 777-200ER features 26 flat bed seats in a 1-1-1 herringbone configuration and have a pitch of 79” and a width of 22” while the -300ER variant features 44 flat bed seats and the 789 having 27 seats with the same seat dimensions.
The seats seem to be getting booked pretty quickly so i wouldn’t waste time thinking about it. It doesn’t seem to be multiple seats available, just 1 on random dates.
If you’ve been pondering about going to New Zealand, this is a fantastic opportunity to do so. Yes, Air New Zealand may not have the best hard product on the market however, their customer service is some of the best I’ve had in my time flying.
Shoutout to Adamhillyeah for pointing out this very, very rare opportunity.
