Virgin Australia Economy X Now Selectable For Free For Velocity Platinum’s

A couple of days ago, Virgin Australia announced Economy X seating. The product went on sale on the 31th, however, there were quite a few teething problems when selecting them.

This was when they first went on sale, rows 3, 4 & 5 are supposed to be Economy X seats and the price should have shown $0.00 as a Platinum member.

I tried reaching out to their Twitter team but that didn’t resolve much:

I’m now happy to report that the problem has been fixed and everything is working as it should.

This is example booking and you can see that rows 3, 4 & 5 are now showing as Economy X and the prices are now set to $0 for Platinum members.

Virgin was pretty fast fixing the problem and it’s good to see that. I’ll be flying quite a bit domestically next week so hopefully I get an aircraft with the news seats and I’ll report back on what it’s like.
