A Product I’m Extremely Interested To Review

I’m currently in the process of planning how I’m getting to the U.S. in April and there’s a product I’m extremely tempted to review. I’m currently looking at reviewing China Eastern First Class on their 777 to either JFK or LAX.

Here are a few pictures of China Eastern’s First Class product. The cabin consists of 6 suites, in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with sliding doors and a 24-inch entertainment screen.

The most interesting thing about the cabin is the middle suites. The seats can be made into a double bed, very similar to what Singapore Airlines Suites offer.

As you can see, the First cabin is very small and looks very spacious. The suites, especially the side one’s look very similar to what Etihad have on their 787’s in First.

And the best part is, there are at least two seats available on every flight for the week I need to be in the U.S. For the flight I would redeem 136,000 Qantas points one-way which sounds like a lot but that’s ok value from the Qantas program.

I’m really hoping to try the product and see what it’s like. I haven’t been able to find an actual review on it yet so that would make for an interesting post.

Should I review China Eastern First Class?

I don’t think anyone has reviewed F on China Eastern. Lots of reviews on J so that should give you an idea about the cabin crews.

Im flying them in Business Friday night LAX-PVG. I have heard ONLY terrible things about this airline except for the hard product. So if you just like the space and the suites great but Food/Service will most likely underwhelm. Also Pilot on China Eastern chain smoke in the cockpit. So that means First class will be smoky!!! That would ruin the trip for me. I picked a seat 3 rows from the back in BIZ to get away from the smoke. I will let you know!

Lipstick on a pig from what I’ve heard. Good luck though, and congrats on the move to BoardingArea.

@Ryan: I’ve taken MU B773ER in J 4 times JFK/PVG. I sat in the mini cabin (6L and 7L) 3 times–absolutely no smell of smoke/cig. I’m not a smoker and I hate second-hand smoking as I have allergy/nose issues. So I’m sensitive to that awful cig smell but there’s just none of that onboard all of my J class experience in MU.

@Zac, no one sat in F besides the crew during crew break when I flew MU in biz. Food was okay and service okay but maybe because I can converse in Mandarin with them. I can share with you the food porn if you want.
