Emirates, the largest carrier in the Middle East has announced plans to increase services into Brisbane. The new service will start on December 1st and will be a direct flight from Dubai.
The new service will be with the 777-200LR which is one of the carriers oldest aircraft. The plane is in a 3 class configuration with First Class, Business Class and Economy Class.
The 777-200LR features 8 enclosed First Class suites wich are similar to the ones found on the A380’s. There are a few small differences like the height of the doors and size of the IFE screen but it’s still a lovely way to fly. It’s also important to note that on the 777’s there’s no shower suites or bar at the back of the cabin, instead there’s a small self-serve bar at the front of the cabin.
The 777 features 42 Business Class seats which happen to be the oldest product the airline offers. The seats are in a 2-3-2 configuration and are angled flat, not lie-flat and this means not every passenger has direct aisle access. The seats are alright for couples travelling together but for solo travellers, the privacy is non-existent.
And lastly, the aircraft features 216 Economy seats in a 3-4-3 configuration. Each seat has a pitch of 33-34” and a width of 17”
The new daily service which will be EK430 leaves Dubai at 10 pm and arrives into Brisbane at 6:15 pm the next day. EK431 will then leave Brisbane at 10:25 pm and arrive into Dubai the next morning at 7:00 am.
