The Qantas Singapore lounge opened in 2013 and has been very popular with passengers that use the facility frequently. The lounge first opened with seating for 540 guests and is home to Neil Perry menus, a large and extensive buffet with a range of options, Spice temple inspired cocktails, a large assortment of Australian wines, 20 shower facilities, service provided by Sofitel and of course a large amount of seating throughout.
Qantas have obviously seen the growth in the lounge and seen a need to expand, and this is exactly what they’ve done. The lounge is now home to 574 people, an extra 74 seats or 2200 square meters of space has been added into the facility.
Qantas officially opened the new seating area’s today and it is the same type of seating that is found in all of the newer lounges, just like the Brisbane International lounge. Take a look at the images below:
Currently the lounge is for both First and Business Class passengers however in November, the airline is set to open their First Class lounge section which I’m sure will look fantastic. Once the First Class section is opened, that will bring up the total amount of seating in the lounge to equal 800.
Qantas currently have First Class lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles and Singapore will be the 4th addition to that list.
The new extra seating will be happily welcomed by passengers as many were reporting that the lounge would get quite packed in peak travel times, this should help free up more space.
I cannot wait to see what the Singapore First Lounge and I strongly believe Qantas will do a great job on this aspect as they do with all of their First Class facilities but we’ll have to wait till November to see more on that.
