Qantas Is Upping Brisbane – Los Angeles Services In Early 2020

Qantas currently run services from Brisbane to Los Angeles 10 times weekly utilising their 787-9 Dreamliners, the route always seems to be full and it’s difficult to find award space or even upgrades for that matter.

For two months, (January 2020 & February 2020) the airline will increase the amount of services weekly from the current 10 to 13.

QF15/16 & QF55/56 are the flight numbers operating services to Los Angeles.

QF055 BNE2035 – 1525LAX 789 x4

QF056 LAX2105 – 0500+2BNE 789 x4
QF016 LAX2320 – 0715+2BNE 789 D

The 787 features a Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabin totalling 236 seats. The Business cabin is configured in a 1-2-1 layout with each seat having a pitch of 46/80” and a width of 24.” The Premium Economy cabin is laid out in a 2-3-2 configuration and those seats feature a pitch of 38” and a width of 20.5.” The Economy cabin is in a 3-3-3 configuration and the seats have a pitch of 32” and a width of 17.2.”

Ultimately this is great news for passengers as there will be more options as well as hopefully a slight increase in award and upgrade availability but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Qantas’ 787 Dreamliner is a comfortable aircraft and I enjoyed my experience onboard, to see what the Business Class product is like, take a look here when I flew it from Hong Kong to Brisbane.

Qantas IS updating.

Qantas is not a plural noun. Similarly, American Airlines IS doing so and so. Sorry this really bothers me and your blog mentions Qantas a lot!

I’m having a shocker today, you’re correct – fixed.

I was lucky to find Bus Cl award space using the Alaska Mileage Plan however it’s nearly impossible to find availability for J class. I’m unsure if there will be a devaluation on Alaska but showing no award space is even worse. It is supremely deflating to have earned or purchased enough points for an advertised award and to fine zero availability. Plus the Search feature for award space on Alaska is murky at best. So my upcoming SYD-PER-BNE-LAX in F/J is even more prized due to it rarefied status. Thank you for your blog focusing on the very important pacific travel segment.

My issue above is with QANTAS availability.
