(This post is a little late but thought it’s still worth posting 😉 )
In Australia, we’re extremely lucky to have some incredible airline lounges. Unlike many other countries, we also split our international and domestic lounges which is both a good and a bad thing. Our domestic lounges are high quality and surprises visitors from other countries. Our International lounges are also fantastic and we’re lucky to house one of the best in the world.
One of our home airlines, Qantas, have separate First and Business Class lounges and the first lounges are quite spectacular. The airline has a first lounge in both Sydney and Melbourne but the most famous one out of the two is in Sydney. Now I sometimes give Qantas a hard time about things but all airlines have their bad spots, credit where credit is due and that’s that Qantas can really pull off a lounge.

For anyone who hasn’t visited, here’s a look inside. The most noticeable part of the lounge is the interior. The look of the lounge was designed by Marc Newson, safe to say he did an amazing job!

There’s also another very well known feature in the lounge, and that’s the food. The lounges have a restaurant with a menu by Neil Perry. Without a doubt, the most popular and well-known options have to be the ‘Salt and Pepper Squid’:

Qantas also have a First Class section in Auckland and they used to have a small First lounge in Brisbane.

What a fantastic lounge. Spent last saturday in there with the old man. 3 course meal, great wine pairings and to finish it off a game of chess and a glass of glenlivet 18. Wouldnt have thought it was 10 years old. My only gripe with it was I was unable to get the old lady access into it even though it was maybe 2/10ths occupied.
