Perth To Get Cathay Pacific A350’s From October 2017

Recently we’ve seen Cathay Pacific increase services to Australia, make services more direct and upgrade existing routes with newer aircraft, in most cases with the A350.

From October 207th Perth Airport will receive Cathay’s A350-900 aircraft which will operate the CX170/171 which runs daily from Hong Kong.

CX171 departs Hong Kong at 2:55 PM and arrives into Perth at 10:35 PM 

CX170 departs Perth at 11:45 PM and arrives into Hong Kong at 7:40 AM

The airline is also upgrading the Melbourne cx134/135 service to A350’s meaning both of Cathay’s Melbourne flights have the new aircraft. This will also take place on the 29th of October.

Perth is the 3rd airport in Australia to receive Cathay’s latest aircraft after Melbourne and Brisbane. The airline has also rapidly expanded the Pacific services with both Auckland and soon Christchurch.

Cathay’s A350 Business Class feature 38 lie-flat upgraded Zodiac Cirrus seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seats have a pitch of 45 inches, a bed length of 70 inches and a width of 20 inches.

The aircraft also features 28 Premium Economy seats which are in a 2-4-2 configuration. The seats have a recline of 9 inches, a pitch of 40 inches and a width of 20 inches.

And lastly, the Cathay A350 has 214 Economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. The seats have 6 inches of recline, 32 inches of pitch and have a width of 18 inches.

In Perth, all elite status members and Business guests use the Qantas Perth International Business Class Lounge.

  1. Asia Miles – Asia Miles charge 45,000 miles roundtrip in Economy, 54,000 miles roundtrip in Premium Economy and 80,000 in Business Class.
  2. Alaska Milage Plan – Alaska Milage Plan charge 30,000 miles roundtrip in Economy, 45,000 miles roundtrip in Premium Economy and 60,000 miles roundtrip in Business Class.
  3. American Airlines AAdvantage – American Airlines AAdvantage charge 60,000 miles roundtrip in Economy and 80,000 miles in Business Class.
  4. Qantas – Qantas charge 70,000 miles roundtrip in Economy, 105,000 miles in Premium Economy and 130,000 miles in Business Class.
