Every year, Skytrax award airlines for best First Class, Business Class, Crew, Cleanliness, overall best airline and a whole heap of other things. This year’s result has been unveiled at the Paris Airshow which is currently being held. Last year, Emirates was awarded the world’s best airline but this year, they have been beaten by their Middle Eastern neighbour, Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways is now the current ‘world’s best carrier’ according to Skytrax. That’s also not the only award they won today. The carrier also took out 3 other awards which is pretty impressive.

World’s best Business Class

The carrier unveiled their brand new ‘Qsuites’ product to the media at the airshow. The aircraft, A7-BED will commence its first service to London on the 24th of this month. For those not aware, the Qsuite is Business Class with enclosed suites, double beds in the middle of the cabin for couples and is now the most private Business product on the market, it’s very similar to Delta’s new suites on their A350.

World’s best First Class lounge

The carrier also took out an award for having the ‘world’s best first class lounge.’ The lounge is pretty spectacular and has to be one of the more exclusive ones out there but there are a few floors with it and I wouldn’t call it the ‘perfect’ lounge. The rules for the rooms and dining are some of the strangest I’ve ever seen. It’s a beautiful facility but I personally would give Swiss the award for theirs. I haven’t been to the Swiss lounge yet but it looks absolutely phenomenal.

Overall,

Congratulations to Qatar and it’s good to see them performing well after the recent event’s in the Aviation sector. As a comparison, Qatar Airways was the second best carrier in 2016, so I’m sure His Excellency is very happy with this year’s result.
