Review – Westin Brisbane Renewal Suite

Marriott has opened two major properties in Brisbane, the W and the Westin. I’ve reviewed the W twice now (here & here), so after having great experiences there, I was very keen to check out the Westin which is only just 3 months old.

I booked a Westin Renewal Suite which was about $400 AUD at the time of booking. From the press photo’s I had seen, I knew it wasn’t going to be as outrageous as the W but more suited for business people on working trips.

The Renewal suite is 53sqm in size and includes a living room, main bedroom and spacious bathroom. As you walk into the room, the hallway will lead you into the living room with the bathroom directly to the left.

The room includes Executive club lounge access as well for the people wondering.

The bed is absolutely fantastic and I was able to get a fantastic nights sleep.

The room had a large LED TV, a couple bottles of water and a small working desk. There’s also a balcony that you can access when the blinds are not being used.

The bathroom is located right next to the bedroom. I really liked the lighting as well colours used in here. It made the bathroom look really modern and more spacious.

It was nice to see both a bathtub and shower in the bathroom and it being separated. A lot of hotels have these combined and it can be quite a pain sometime with the water pressure but this wasn’t the case in this room.

The Westin Brisbane stocks Elemis Spa products which Im a fan of.

Amenities

There’s one toilet in the suite and that’s located next to the main basins in the bathroom.

There was quite a decent selection of snacks to choose from in the minibar.

It was refreshing to see more than just 2 bottles of water in the room. I know that may sound strange but more and more hotels are getting cheap on the bottles of water they give out.

There was a standard selection of juices, soft drinks and alcohol found in the fridge.

Overall

I really enjoyed my stay at the Westin Brisbane. If you’ve got a short stop in Brisbane or just on a business trip, this would be my go to hotel if you’re part of the Marriott Bonvoy program. It’s not over the top, there’s more business focused facilities and it’s priced quite well. Another thing to mention about the property is that there’s a swim up bar which is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
