Good morning from Dubai. I’m currently in the sand pit for a couple of hours then I’m off to review some new products. The first one, Emirates’ new First Class onboard their 777 which I’ll be flying to Brussels.
I wrote about the new Suites when they first came out and since then, I’ve been dying to try them out. I was able to book a one-way award in First with Qantas points.
DXB-BRU / 75,000 Qantas points + $658 AUD
The Emirates new Suites aren’t difficult to book, if you can plan last minute. As the product is Emirates’ baby, they obviously would prefer to make more revenue bookings rather than awards hence why space is opened up late or last minute. When searching for space yesterday, I was able to find at least 1 seat on flights to Geneva, Frankfurt as well as Brussels.
If you’re wanting to book a first award, I’d recommend using Expertflyer to monitor both award availability (Z fare code) and the seat map as that can of course change last minute.
After flying to Brussels, I’ll be spending 2 nights there then headed to Amsterdam. After visiting Amsterdam, I’m headed onto London then onto Singapore and Brisbane.
I reviewed Singapore’s new A380 Business Class on the delivery flight back in 2017, I’m excited to see what the experience will be like as a normal passenger.
LHR-SIN-BNE / 116,000 Krisflyer Miles + $242.62 GBP
As for the flight to Brisbane, I’ll be onboard an A350-900 which I reviewed to Melbourne but that was also sometime ago and could do with an update.
I was heavily wanting to get a review of Singapore’s Suites however all the dates l looked only had waitlist space and I’d prefer just to have something set in place, even though I have a terrible habit of changing plans extremely last minute, hence why I’m in Dubai early….
