It’s only been a couple of weeks back at home and I’ve decided that it’s time for my next trip to start. I was actually looking at Qantas flights this afternoon for an upcoming post and I happened to noticed that I had found some space in Qantas First from Melbourne to Singapore on the AAdvantage website.

At first, I pretty much looked twice just thinking it would be phantom space as this has been happening for a LONG time but to my surprise, the seat showed up on the British Airways website. Safe to say, I rang American right away and booked after a lovely 45 minute hold – ThAAnks AAdvantage.

I was able to book this flight for a total of 50,000 AAdvantage miles.

The Qantas A380 First cabin contains a total of 14 suites that are configured in a 1-1-1 layout and feature a pitch of 79” and a width of 22-inches. Qantas will actually fly their upgraded A380’s from next month so I thought it’d be a fantastic opportunity to trial the older product which I still haven’t done.

For the return leg home, instead of flying an airline I’ve flown a heap like Cathay or Singapore, I decided it would be a good opportunity to try Malaysian.

The carrier use their A330-300’s which feature a much better Business product than what the airline used to offer to Australia so I’m quite excited to see what they’re like, or more-so the satay sticks 😉

The A330-300 features a total of 27 suites in a 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 configuration with each seat featuring a pitch of 43” and a width of 20-inches.

I’m extremely excited for this trip and am quite glad I can finally tick two products off the list as they’re ones I have been wanting to do for quite sometime, especially for Qantas First.

What product are you most looking forward to seeing?
