A couple of days ago, I was given the very rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of Airservices Australia’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) Centre, right here in my home town of Brisbane. As a child. I always looked up at the tower and would imagine what it would feel like to go up there […]
As you could probably tell, I’m a huge Avgeek. I first got interested in Aviation as a young child, and the passion and love for aircraft have only intensified as the years go by. The first thing I started to do as I grew older was plane spotting and a lot of it. I would […]
I’m a huge fan of Asia, and it’s somewhere I’m always excited to return to. Interestingly, I still hadn’t yet visited Indonesia, and it’s somewhere I was interested in seeing. Bali is hugely popular with Australians, and our airlines offer many daily services to the region. In my case, I used a credit in my […]
The past year has been incredibly difficult for Hong Kong, and unfortunately, with what’s happening now with the Coronavirus, the city is really feeling the effects. For those who aren’t familiar, the city has been overrun with protests which started on the 15th of March last year, and they haven’t stopped. The goal of the […]
Over the past couple of months, Qantas has announced a couple of routes to greater expand their regional QantasLink route network. For those interested, the other three routes are being introduced in New South Wales and Victoria. From the 29th of March this year, Qlink will be starting a service connecting Sydney and Mildura and […]

The airline is offering a discount for redemption tickets to a select few destinations, ones that are quite popular with tourists and families. Qantas […]
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen some great promotions being run by Virgin Australia, and it appears that they’ll continue. Virgin recently bought back the Velocity program at the cost of $623 million and with this brings a lot of opportunities for the program to grow, expand and continue to be valuable to customers. […]
In July of last year, Qantas announced two new routes that would connect Brisbane to two new destinations that the Queensland airport hasn’t previously served. Qantas has quite an extensive route network to the US, and it continues to grow in demand and be highly profitable. The two cities that were announced are San Francisco […]
Ridesharing services are an extremely vital part of the travel world now, and that is continuing to grow with companies sprouting up every few months. In Australia, we have three leading players – Uber, Ola and Didi. Uber is arguably the most significant ridesharing service as it’s been the front runner for a long time. […]
Virgin Australia first started its Hong Kong services back in July of 2017. This new route would be their first route into Asia besides Denpasar, and their A330 fleet would operate it. Competition between airlines on the Australia – Hong Kong route is extremely fierce with the likes of Cathay and Qantas operating flights per […]
Last year I was able to tick off most of the airlines and products I’ve wanted to trial, and that made me quite pleased. This year is going to be a lot bigger than last and with that brings products that I haven’t really touched on or talked minimally about. If you haven’t already seen […]
Since 2017, Virgin Australia has given Velocity members the ability to buy points. The airline introduced their points booster as a way for guests to quickly attain points which is extremely helpful when you’re short for a redemption and have no other way to get points. The points booster program works in conjunction with Points.com, […]
