Earlier this year, Qatar Airways opened their fancy new Paris lounge. At the opening event, the carriers CEO His Excellency Akbar Al Baker stated that the airline will be opening a brand new lounge in Bangkok and will also be expanding the current lounge at London’s Heathrow airport. The lounge at LHR was opened in 2011.
Anyway, it appears that Qatar hasn’t been wasting any time in getting the new lounges build. Flyertalk member Pook shared these photo’s today of the current construction on the new BKK lounge.

Obviously, it’s still very early stages and it’s not yet apparent what the final look of the lounge will be but knowing Qatar, it will be quite extravagant and look fantastic. The need for a Qatar lounge is definitely warranted as they now operate 5 flights alone just to Bangkok!
I would imagine the lounge will look quite similar their Paris lounge as that’s their most recent design and look. Here’s what the Paris lounge looks like if you haven’t seen it before:
I’m very much looking forward to seeing what Qatar will do with the new lounge and I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Qatar seem to do lounges very well and hopefully, they continue to do it with the Bangkok lounge.
