Quite a few months ago I finally got to stay at the W Brisbane hotel which I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. I wrote about the hotel a few times as it’s quite a major development for the city. Brisbane isn’t home to that many chain hotels so when one opens here, it’s quite exciting for travellers and tourists.
I’ve stayed in 2 W properties (Los Angeles & New York) so I had a little bit of an idea what to expect in terms of the layout and look of the property but nonetheless, I was very excited to see how the first W in Australia would compare.
I stayed for 2 nights so I could get a better taste of what the hotel was like. For my stay, I booked one of the Marvellous Suites. The property has a number of suites available to choose from and vary in price. If you’d like to take a look at all the rooms on offer, click here.
As you first walk into the room, you’ll first find the living area space as well as the minibar which is located to the right.
The website states that the rooms are 80sqm/861sqft.
I was really impressed with the furnishing in the room, the wooden floor is really a nice touch. The minibar is well stocked with alcohol, soft drinks and an assortment of snacks.
The main bedroom is found to the right when entering the room. It includes a small couch on the left of the bed while the walk in bathroom is located on the right.
The bathroom is pretty well spread out and includes a bathtub (which is meant to resemble gallon drums in the outback), a large marble shower and a toilet.
The shower is really well sized and the marble is especially nice.
Overall
I really enjoyed my stay at the W Brisbane and would definitely return. Not pictured in the review but worth a mention, was the quality of the room service. I’m always interested to see how room service is at hotels and I can definitely recommend the in-room dining at the W. The duck was absolutely outstanding and if you get a chance to try it, I heavily suggest trying it.

Although it is the only current W Hotel in Australia operating, it’s not the first ever W Hotel in Australia. There was one in Woolloomooloo in Sydney which changed hands in 2007.
Great review! I look forward to staying at the Brisbane hotel, and the Sydney and Melbourne ones once they’re opened.
Oh didn’t know that, thank you for the heads up. Have a fantastic stay!
