Aircalin is an airline that I’ve wanted to review for a long, long time. I wrote about trying to review them a couple of years ago and never got around to doing it. The Noumea based airline placed an order for 2 new A330Neo’s in October in 2017 and the airline has very recently taken delivery of one of them, this is the perfect opportunity to give the airline a go.
The airline is currently only flying the Neo variant to Tokyo’s Narita airport and that’s where I’ll be heading in a couple of days. Sydney will be the second route that will receive the updated aircraft.
I was able to pick up a one-way Business Class fare for just over $1400 which is fantastic value considering the return flight would be $3300 or more!
Here are some pictures of the new Business Class seats:

The new Business Class on the A330Neo features 26 lay-flat beds in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each seat features a USB port, Power Point, 39 centimetre IFE screen and sufficient seat storage.

The aircraft is also equipped with onboard wifi connectivity.

From my understanding, if you book a QF ticketed/codeshare flight on Aircalin you’re able to earn points and status however if you don’t book through Aircalin, you can earn FlyingBlue miles and points, I fall into the latter.
I’m still yet to book my flight over to Noumea but am thinking about doing the older A330 Business from Sydney just so I can get both products in one trip.
Qantas is the only other airline flying to Noumea from Australia but they use a much smaller 737 which I’ve flown a million times.
Are you excited to see how Aircalin’s new A330Neo Business Class will perform?
