Qatar Airways’ Qsuite has been one of the most hyped products to ever launch, and for good reason. The Business Class suites are fitted with closing doors, NFC payment and there’s even a double bed for couples travelling together. The product was officially launched on March 8th at ITB Berlin.
Shortly after the product was released, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker stated that the first aircraft that would be fitted with the new suites will be the 777-300ER fleet followed by the A350’s. A few weeks ago, I posted that the first 777 to get the suites was being flown over to Zurich. The aircraft – A7-BED, is set to arrive back in Doha on June 5th.
The airline said that the first destination to get the new Business product would be London, then followed by Paris which is operated by an A380 and it’s supposed to be a slightly different product on the 380, then will be New York which is operated by a 777-300ER, followed by Tokyo which is operated by an A350-900 and finally Sao Paulo which is operated with a 777-300ER.
The product has made many travellers excited and are eager to try it, myself included. Well, the wait is almost over. Gilbert over at God Save The Points reports that the new product will be on the QR7 service from Doha – London on June 10th. This will be the first public flight with new seats and I’m even considering flying over to get on the flight.
At this stage, Expertflyer and other flight booking software aren’t showing the new seat map as I’d say Qatar haven’t yet loaded them onto the flight.
I’m still wanting to know why the airline hasn’t started with the 777-200LR’s first considering the age and the flights they serve. It’s also interesting to note that Qatar just received their latest A350 (A7-ALP) and it’s been fitted with the B/E Super Diamond suites which is the current product and not the Qsuite. Wouldn’t you rather fit the new aircraft with the new seats rather than the older seats to then have to fly it back for forth to Zurich for fitting?
Do you think Qsuite will be the best Business Class product?

Most probs the latest A380 was “in the queue” via the production line as the new suites were only announced at ItB Berlin March and to fit out in Toulouse , wouldn’t be practical .. hence the retro fit out later on ZHR
Get yourself over there on the Inaugural ! It’d be a fascinating and great review , very encouraging if you can do it
Nev – Yeah I’d say that’s why. Let’s hope I can make it, it’ll be one interesting post that’s for sure!
