The Westin Kuala Lumpur One Bedroom Residence
For my last night in Kuala Lumpur, I booked a night at the Westin which is located right in the city centre and also right in front of the Ritz-Carlton. The hotel is a category three property which would require 15,000 Bonvoy points for an off-peak award, 17,500 for a standard night award and 20,000 for a peak night award.
As I was staying just as COVID-19 started to be taken seriously, the rates of the hotel were very nicely priced at just over $150 AUD.

The hotel has a rather simple yet elegant foyer with a reception desk and concierge to either side. Check-in was completed effortlessly, and I was upgraded to one of the residences/serviced apartments which were located in the tower next to the reception desk instead of the main lobby.

As you follow this hallway, it’ll lead you straight out to the elevators that are exclusively for the residences.

If I’m honest, I find these types of rooms a bit of a waste if you’re only spending one night in them or alone travelling as one guest. If you’ve got a few days and have access to a nearby convenience store or supermarket, these rooms are perfect as you can cook and prepare your own food.

The room includes a reasonably sized living area, two separate desk areas and a half outdoor area if that’s what you want to call it.

And this is the ”outdoor” area except, none of the windows can be opened.

And here’s the view of Kuala Lumpur from the living room. The weather wasn’t too bad for my trip with there only being about two short periods of rain over three days which is excellent.

The room featured a small number of snacks as well as an assortment of beverages to choose from.

When I first saw this on the bench, I gave it no thought and just assumed it was a bar of soap. But in fact, It turned out to be some dried up pineapple, and it was quite tasty.

To the left of the living room is where you’ll find both the bedroom as well as the bathroom.

The bathroom was reasonably clean for my stay, but the only one issue I found was a constant noise from the toilet, but that seemed to subside, which is always positive.

I’m a massive fan of the Westin Heavenly beds, and this one didn’t disappoint!

After taking photos and settling into the room, I went and caught up with a friend and went and looked around the city. It was my first time visiting Kuala Lumpur, and I couldn’t miss the chance to go and see the Petronas Towers. You can definitely see where the Burj got a little inspiration…

Overall
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Westin Kuala Lumpur and would happily return, albeit when things are back to normal. The bed was without a doubt the best part of the stay and I can say it was one of the better nights of sleep I’ve had in the past few months.
