Amazing Etihad First Class Availability From Australia To Abu Dhabi In Peak Times!

It’s not too often I can write a post like this but when it happens it’s definitely worth talking about. Flying over peak seasons in premium cabins with points can be extremely tough but there are ways around it which usually multiple connections, strange flights etc. But when you can fly direct in an award winning First Class product quite easily, it’s pretty damn amazing and hard to say no to.

This week we learned that Etihad would take the A380 from Melbourne and instead of putting the aircraft on a new route they have put the aircraft onto one of 2 Sydney routes.  Sydney now gets two A380’s from October 29th.

Thanks to the aircraft swap, the award availability to the Middle East is amazing with both flights having seats free every day!

Here’s an example of what the award space is like in early December:

And here is what it looks like a day after Christmas!:

The fact that space is available over Christmas and the peak travel period is pretty awesome.

Flying on Etihad A380’s Apartments is truly an incredible experience. You have an onboard chef, a massive suite with a separate bed and chair, a shower onboard and a beautiful lobby area at the back of First Class.

You just plagiarized Pointhacks website, again. Generate your own work for once and one day you might earn some respect on these forums. Until then you’re an undeserving amateur that is undeserving of BoardingArea posting rights. Shameful really.

Just ignore the guy. He’s another holier than thou internet
policeman that contributes nothing, but is always first in line at the bitch fest. These morons always berate others because they’ve got nothing to offer themselves.

Any surprise when EY is flying two A380s a day, piled onto those EK, QR and QF are flying?! There is no realistic demand for that many F seats/cabins on this route so dumping them as award inventory is a no brainer. Of course as noted, getting beyond or to the M3 hubs is another matter since there is enough market demand for revenue F across the Atlantic on most of their routes, or Europe (LHR, CDG, FRA). There is certainly revenue J/C and Y demand to/from SYD but a fleet mismatch. Might we not start seeing (at least EK) the end of F on many A380s?

I agree it’s fantastic to see them increase the award space on the route. I know availability between JFK-AUH is so tight and I’d imagine it won’t change much when they get two daily A380s. I’d think it would be a smart decision to see EK send 2 class aircraft to Australia considering they have so many services and First wouldn’t fill all of the time.

I’ve already booked for one of those December dates. The ‘Guest First’ disappeared after I booked a few months back… checked now and it there is availability for the same flight again!

Yep, Etihad award space does that quite often. Enjoy the flight!
