For Virgin Australia passengers on the VA86 service from Hong Kong to Melbourne you are now able to access the newly minted “Club Autus” lounge at Hong Kong International airport. Business Class guests as well as Platinum and Gold members previously had access to the ”Club Bauhinia.”
Hong Kong Airlines recently opened the HK$35 Million dollar lounge and it’s safe to say it looks pretty damn impressive from what the press release images are showing. The facility is located on level 7 of Hong Kong airport. Here’s a few photo’s of the new lounge:
Is it just me or does the new lounge look exactly like one of Virgin Australia’s domestic lounges?
The new lounge has shower facilities, business zones, family areas and even a 3D cinema experience showcasing Hong Kong.
There’s also a new food station that’s 20 meters long and serves both Asian and Western options.
The airline has also partnered with Tea company jrink to serve bespoke and delicious tea’s in the lounge. This is quite similar to what Cathay Pacific offer in selected Business lounges in Hong Kong.
The new facility is definitely a positive enhancement for Virgin Australia passengers on the Hong Kong service. The previous lounge didn’t look bad at all but the new one looks quite impressive and I hope to review it soon enough. If you’re starting your journey in Melbourne, you have access to the Etihad lounge.
Ultimately I thing the “Club Autus” lounge could be as good if not better than some of Cathay’s Business lounges around the world and even in Hong Kong. As I haven’t reviewed the new lounge I can’t say It is but hopefully we’ll be able to tell quite soon.
