I’ve managed to find some lost photos so decided I better use them and write some reviews. In this post, I’ll be reviewing Virgin Australia’s A330 Business Class with service from Hong Kong to Melbourne Airport.
Virgin Australia use the Hong Kong Airlines lounge in Hong Kong and this was my first stop. All Business Class, Platinum and Gold members are able to access this facility. Platinum and Gold members are able to bring in one guest.
The lounge has seating for 120 guests, features two private meeting rooms, a large variety or hot and food options and a large selection of beverages.
The lounge is quite visually pleasing and I was a big fan of the wood finishes around the precinct.
I’ve reviewed ‘The Business’ product many times, including long-haul to Los Angeles and Coast to Coast to Perth. For those who aren’t aware, the A330 features 20 Business Class suites and 255 Economy Class seats.
For this flight, I chose seat 2A.
The cabin crew came around and introduced themselves personally to the passengers as well as asking them if they’d like a pre-departure beverage and handing them the menu’s and amenity kit.
The amenities included your basics as well as some nice skin and beauty products by Burt’s Bees.
The crew will hand you two menus, one for breakfast and one for dinner as the flight is an evening departure.
The pyjamas given were soo much better than the previous ones, these aren’t new as the flight was taken a while ago but still, a great improvement.
Unfortunately I got to get photos of the main menu but here is the express menu.
To start my meal service, I started with a sparkling water, olives and savoury crackers.
I wasn’t feeling like eating too much as I had just come from a previous flight so I just decided to have some cheese and crackers.
I also went with a ginger ale and water.
Shortly after I ate my cheese and crackers, I decided it’d be a good idea to get some rest on this overnight flight. The crew came and made my bed while I was in the bathroom changing into my Pjs, I appreciated the swift and quick service.
About 5 hours later, it was time to wake up and have some breakfast. I always enjoy the bacon and eggs on VA ,so naturally, it was my choice to go with.
As I ate my breakfast, I began to watch the sunrise outside of my window. Defiantly my favourite way to wake up!
As we approached Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport, I was glued looking out at the beautiful weather we were arriving into.
And just like that, we are in Melbourne. Just as we pulled into our gate, I spotted a stunning looking Cathay Pacific A350.
I really really enjoyed this flight and gave me an opportunity to see how Virgin perform on the international medium haul flights.
The cabin crew were really the highlight of the flight. They really did well with the speed and efficiency of service all while having a smile and engaging with passengers. It showed they enjoy their job and it’s something I really like to look out for more while travelling.
