Per Paul Woosnam/Virgin Australia,

We want to be the airline of choice for travelling families and we’re proud to be the only carrier in Australia to recognise that travelling with an infant can sometimes mean packing far more than usual. We think parents will be please too, as they can now pack a little extra for themselves

As well as the added 23kg checked baggage allowance, passengers with infants will also be able to bring onboard an extra 7kg’s of hand luggage.

Virgin Australia now gives infants an extra baggage allowance

To be eligible for the extra baggage allowances, your infant has to be 23 months or younger, if your young child is older than 23 months, unfortunately you won’t qualify.

The new added baggage allowance is for travel in all classes and no fares are excluded from this.
