Virgin Australia To Use The Etihad Lounge For Melbourne -Los Angeles Services

Last year Virgin Australia announced that they will be bringing back services to and from Melbourne to Los Angeles. Tomorrow the service recommences and departs Melbourne at 11:30 am and arrives in Los Angeles at 9:00 am.

The airline has been switching and swapping lounges for a few months now and there was a bit of uncertainty as to which lounge passengers would use for the new LAX service.

Business Class guests, Virgin Australia Platinum & Gold and Etihad Platinum and Gold members will be able to access the beautiful Etihad lounge in Melbourne.

The lounge was awarded best lounge in Australia and it’s quite easy to see why. If you haven’t seen my review of the lounge click here.

As a reminder for passengers departing Los Angeles for Melbourne, Business Class guests & Gold members will be able to access the Etihad lounge in Los Angeles and Platinum members will be able to access the Emirates lounge.

It’s great to see the service being brought back and I think I’ll be taking it later this month from Los Angeles. It’s also good to note that the arrival time into LAX is perfect. Mostly all of the Australia originating flights land at 6/7 and it can be absolute chaos. 9 am is a quiet and great time to arrive in the city of angels!
