Virgin Australia Pulls It’s Planned Perth – Abu Dhabi Service

I was not expecting this at all – Virgin Australia has pulled it’s planned Perth – Abu Dhabi service which was set to start on June 9th, the flight was going to be operated by their A330-200’s.

According to Airlineratings, the decision is being based on competition with Qantas’s latest announcements with their 787-9 routes and plans. I knew the competition is quite fierce, but I didn’t at all expect Virgin to not go ahead with the new route.

The last few months has been big movements from Qantas ranging from their new Aircraft and livery to a new ‘revolutionary’ Premium Economy.

Virgin hasn’t had as many announcements but they just announced Hong Kong services & they are bringing back the Melbourne – Los Angeles service on the 4th of April.

Etihad will continue it’s Abu Dhabi – Perth service with their 787-9 aircraft which runs daily.
