Virgin Australia Wins Big At The Onboard Hospitality Awards

Virgin Australia has just been awarded the best onboard beverages at the Onboard Hospitality Awards ceremony which was held at the Raddison Blu in Hamburg.

The award was actually given to the airline especially for their brand new red wine offering. The Barossa Valley winery and Virgin Australia introduced the wine last month, the unique thing about it is that it’s designed for consumption at 38,000 feet.

The Shiraz wine is named ‘The Duo’ and is available on all Business Class services and also can be found in Virgin Australia lounges.

Here’s what the judges said about the product courtesy of onboardhospitality,

A specially-blended wine from an historic wineproducing region, this wine had a great taste on the palette, with a balance of strength and elegance. It also brings an interesting back story and links to the onboard wine service.

The judges also gave a recommendation to Qantas for their Four Pillars Australian Gin.

United Airlines also made the finals with their Bloody Mary Cart.

Congratulations to Virgin Australia on winning the award. I can’t obviously tell you how good the wine is or isn’t but I’d say it would be very good to win the award 😉
