Hyatt Will Be Opening A Property In Brisbane In 2023

Recently it was announced that Hyatt would be expanding their Australia portfolio by adding another property to the list. Hyatt currently has 7 hotels in Australia, The Park Hyatt Sydney, Park Hyatt Melbourne, Park Hyatt Canberra, Hyatt Regency Perth, Hyatt Regency Sydney and the Hyatt Place Essendon.

Brisbane is the only major city to not have a property but that will soon be changing. Hyatt will be spending $70 Million on the property and it will be part of a massive overhaul of current facilities currently in Woollonogabba.

The Hyatt Place will feature 170 rooms, will feature a roof top pool and bar, and is scheduled to open in 2023.

This isn’t Hyatt’s first property that they’ve had here in Queensland. The company used to own a Hyatt Regency on the Sunshine Coast however the contract ended and the hotel was then purchased by Clive Palmer for $80 million dollars. Hyatt also used to own a Hyatt Regency on the Gold Coast, they no longer have the hotel and it’s now known as the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove.

With Marriott opening a few properties in Brisbane in the past couple of years like the W and Westin, I think it’s fantastic that Hyatt’s expanding their presence in Australia.

Ultimately I think this is a fantastic announcement and something I’m really happy to see. For those not aware, I live in Brisbane and stay at Hyatt’s quite often so this has got me very excited. Brisbane is slowly and surely growing, there’s a ton of new properties (not just chain brands) opening and expanding which is fantastic for travellers and people coming to visit this city.

There’s currently no details as to what the rooms, bar, lobby or pool like like but as time goes on, I’ll keep updating the post and keep you all up to date with posts when these come available.

Are you excited for the Hyatt Place Brisbane?
